As a New Yorker, “back to school” occurs in September, so I spend August prepping for the new semester! I am especially excited this semester because it’s my second to last semester before I graduate with my Master’s degree from NYU! Going to graduate school while working full-time at a marketing agency AND managing Mint and Thrift has not been easy, but I has helped grow this blog strategically. As a student at heart, I am surely going to miss school.
Outfits for back to school should never be hard, nor should they empty your wallet. As a graduate student, I’m always hyper conscious about how much I’m spending considering. I fully understand the struggles of having bills to pay and having student loan debt, but still wanting some discretionary income. I parsed the Internet for some affordable outfits for back to school, and here are my three favorites!
This is an outfit that you can literally through on and go. The faux-suede jacket and printed mules add style to the super casual jumpsuit. You can bet that I’ll be repeating this outfit a few times this fall!
Suede Jacket – Old Navy, $60
Jumpsuit – Old Navy, $30 (recently marked down!)
Loafers – H&M, $30
Tote Bag – Sole Society, $65 (#NSale price is below $40!)
This outfit is all about the fall essentials: A comfortable sweater, denim, and boots. Carry a laptop and all your books in a roomy cross body bag.
Sweater – H&M, $30
Jeans – ASOS, $51
Messenger Bag – TopShop, $55
Ankle Boots – Public Desire, $45
This last outfit is one of my favorites, because it’s exactly $150! This dress is so roomy. These Forever21 ankle boots bring some edge to the outfit, and keep your feet warm in the brisk fall mornings and evenings.
Dress – BooHoo, $30
Ankle Boots – Forever21, $40
Backpack – Fjallraven, $80
To all going back to school, tune in on Fridays this August for more back to school favorites and tips! A teaser for next week – back to school essentials!
