Oh hello, fall sample sales and goodbye, dear wallet. So I went a tad overboard on the sample sales earlier this month but can you blame me? I’m a sucker for cheap designer goods and you should be too. Case in point, this very outfit (insert flexing arm/bicep + pounding fist + fireball emojis).
Let’s start from the top:
- Marc New York winter hat: $15
- Marc New York white wool blend coat: $60
- Marc by Marc Jacobs white fingerless gloves: $20
- Marc by Marc Jacobs Viv studded oxford shoes: $40
- Rebecca Minkoff unlined feed bag: $75
If only for a winter refresh, I’d say this is sample sale success.
If you’re in NYC, here are my top 6 picks for where to find the next sample sales:
Mizhattan – Probably one of the earliest to announce upcoming sample sales, this is the spot to go to find out what sales are going on on a daily basis.
Sample Sally – Really good roundups with photos that drop early on the press preview or opening day.
Racked – Subscribe to their email newsletter to be notified every month of upcoming sample sales.
Practically Haute – A recent discovery but so useful especially as sales start coming to an end (and get extra discounts)!
Le Hoarder – For some major sample sale shopping inspo, and understandable envy for the deals she find, this is the blogger to follow!
260 Sample Sale – The host of most sample sales I visit, 260 will post sample sale announcements 2 weeks in advance.
In other news, from now until pretty much mid-May next year I’ll be freezing. Despite growing up in NYC, it feels like the tundra has overcome the city. I’m keeping myself warm by bundling up and lots, oh lots of coffee, tea, and soup. Stay warm, friends!
