Even though I wear hats year round, fall & winter are when I kick my hat wearing into high gear. Cold weather makes hats an obvious need, especially as we approach December and January when the weather tends to get icy. You don’t have to own all the hats – in fact, I only own a few and wear them in rotation! If you’re going to purchase hats this season, make it these 4 hat styles that are must haves in 2017:
Fedora
No other place to begin but the fedora! This is by far my favorite type of hat! I love that a fedora can be worn with literally anything. I personally like a flat, wide-brim fedora. For a day-to-day look, wear a slouchy sweater, skinny jeans, and boots.

Beret
Cue a croissant and coffee, this hat is the essence of French chic! French style is known for it’s almost effortless feel, but I will say that berets are far but effortless. Keep in mind – it’s likely because this is a brand new item I am working to get right in my wardrobe. I find myself fidgeting to get the right angle on my head, but once I do c’est fantastique! Take a tip from the French gals – classics work fabulously with this hat.

Beanie
Beanies are my go-to when it gets cold outside! My favorite by far is a cashmere-blend beanie – super soft and oh so warm! A chunky knit with a pom-pom adds some fun to this hat while still keeping you extra warm. The best part? This hat stays put no matter the wind situation.

Baker Boy
A revival and new favorite, the baker boy hat has been the most popular hat of the year! This has to be Instagram’s favorite hat of 2017 and it’s likely it will stick around for a while. I’m inspired by the scene you might find at an art gallery, so get creative with textures, prints, and layers.
