Guest buddy, the yellow labrador, Snuggles!
When summer finally hits NYC, it hits HARD bringing to mind the question of “What should I wear?!” So here’s one answer: wear basics. Eliminate the fuss of tugging and pulling on your clothing so it sits justttt right and your pit stains don’t show (the struggle is real..). While I’m not big into plain tees nor “basic” looks per se I’m all for elevated basics. My definition of elevated basics are casual, everyday items kicked up a notch. The “notch” can be an accessory, a different fabric, a shoe… anything that makes what you’re wearing special.
In my look, I decided to wear the king of basics – Gap. The top is made of Tencel, a sustainably sourced fabric made of wood pulp that feels very soft and has the breathability of cotton. The breathability of the top certainly made up for the fact that I wore stretchy skinny jeans. As my completer “notch”, I topped it off with these crazy good, very walkable platform oxfords.

Nice outfit, I agree basics are the easiest to just throw on. I like that it’s a more of a faded black, and I love the shoes! They really bring the outfit to another level.
