It’s the first day of SPRING! If you follow me on Insta, you know that I just did a MAJOR hair change for the new season. Hello pink hair! With winter over (but not quite, it was snowing when I shot this…) and a recent color treatment, this means I now need to change up my hair care regimen to restore my hair. I tried Finesse Restore + Strengthen Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to help treat my hair and make it healthy for spring.
I’m a firm believer in trying all kinds of products, but not spending a fortune. At just $3.99 per bottle ($1.99 at Walmart!) Finesse is truly a bargain! As far as the review…
- I’ve said it before – I have true-to-form curly Dominican hair which is prone to frizziness. After using the shampoo I felt that my hair was silkier. As the air gets warmer and more humid, this will be great to combat my frizzy hair!
- While in fine print, the bottle does state that Finesse is gentle enough for color treated hair. I’m happy to say my hair is still a vibrant shade of pink. 🙂
Hair Care Tips
Shampooing and conditioning are great, but in addition to adding Finesse to my spring hair care regimen, here’s an inside look into what else I do to keep my hair healthy!
Every two weeks, I use a coconut oil mask. Coconut oil is so nourishing for hair because it helps reduce protein loss. This makes for softer, less brittle hair. That’s followed by washing my hair and using a leave in conditioner when damp.
I then blow dry straight (yep, all by myself!), and knock out any remaining frizz with a flatiron. That’s followed by a hair oil on the ends and just in front where it gets extra frizzy to keep it all sleek.
Finally – Don’t heat style every day! To keep my blow out I do what Dominicans refer to as a “tubi.” Essentially, you brush your hair so it wraps around your head, and top it with a hair net. This seriously extends the life of my blow out, and I only need to touch up the front the next morning if the net moved around too much overnight.
You can shop for Finesse Restore + Strengthen Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner at most drugstores like Walgreens and Walmart. and in my Shop The Post below, plus some more of my hair care favorites!
