While everyone is going hard on the 90s revival (trust me, I’m right there with them with bucket hats, velvet, and chunky dad shoes), I’m crushing hard on the 70s. Particularly with the resurgence of blazers for daily wear… a corduroy blazer. The rich burgundy along with the visually satisfying texture of the corduroy reminds me of the many classic styles that came out if that decade.
With blazers coming back hard, I found this fit – slightly long, with strong shoulders, and of course the necessary fabric – really makes this a unique item to have and stand out from the neutrals and plaid.
While I would typically see corduroy as a fall fabric, I’m still finding it to translate well into spring. I liken it to velvet lately – it’s now a year round appropriate fabric.
And since we’re on corduroy lately, why not dress it to the max with some more cords? I’m found these fantastic boots on mega-sale ($10!) at ModCloth a while ago…. a find that really brings this outfit together.
Wondering where to find one of your own? I always recommend thrifting first for the authentic look, but I’m also loving ModCloth, NA-KD, and &Other Stories for really cool, similar styles.
