I’m no stranger to French beauty. After my trip to Paris last year, which included a very necessary trip to CityPharma for all the French skincare essentials. At the time, I didn’t pick up anything by Caudalie, though I recently experienced a mini facial at their headquarters in NYC, and gifted a few of their products which are now must-haves in my everyday skincare regimen.
A little bit about Caudalie
What does wine have to do with this? Caudalie was born in Bordeaux, an area of France known around the world for their various wines. The French skincare company took advantage of the many benefits of the grapes that go into producing that wine, specifically grape seed polyphenols, vine resveratrol, and grape water. And best of all, it gets a stamp of approval from clean beauty aficionados since it lacks paragons, sulfates, mineral oils, and any ingredients of animal origins.
My experience
About a month ago, I noticed that my skin was not doing well. I had an acne breakout across my chin and a few on my forehead (not cute!) and after masks, and moisturizers, oils, and serums galore, my skin felt tired, dehydrated, and just not clean. So I pulled out my Caudalie Favorites Set, and continuously used each item, morning and night, until the very last drop of product. Here are the steps I took:
1: Remove makeup and the day’s oil and any other build-up with Micellar Cleansing Water. I think of micellar water as the lazy girl’s way to cleansing – just use some on a cotton round and it will take everything off!
2: Follow that up with the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum. Caudalie’s serum quickly absorbs into the skin and helps with decreasing the visibility of dark spots (like acne scars).
3: Spray on the cult favorite Beauty Elixir. This is my favorite step because it smells DIVINE!
4: Shake up the bottle of the Premier Cru eye cream and apply over the orbital bone.
5: End with the smooth, extra moisturizing Vinosource moisturizer.
The results? My skin felt soft, moisturized, and my acne flare up was clearing. While Caudalie products are on the most expensive side for skincare, I can honestly attest to the competence and potency of the skincare line. I’ve made it a point to save up for the full-sized versions, but when in doubt get the travel size and try it out for yourself!
