2019 is around the corner and I honestly cannot believe it! How is it that 2018 literally flew by?! It’s been a year of ups and downs, highs and lows as many years are. Through it all, there’s definitely been growth and I want to ride that out for this upcoming year.
Sure, the years seem to fly by quickly but whenever I am looking out towards a brand new one I find that I’m often overwhelmed. 365 more days are coming at me all of a sudden that I need to fill with projects of all sorts. Here’s a great way to put things into perspective in a concise (and creative!) way: creating a vision board.
I recently attended a vision board creation party with Boss Chicas Global, a platform for Latina entrepreneurs, small business owners, and creatives. I never created a vision board so it was nice to be guided through making a brand new one. One of the tips shared was not looking at things at objectives but feelings. One of my goals is to get my own living space – living with my parents is great and rent is free but this is a milestone I think we all need to achieve. I have a vision of a beautiful open space, with floor to ceiling windows, and furniture I can’t afford for 10 years lol. Instead, think about how the picture makes you feel, aka what does your own apartment mean to you?
With that, I devised a few of my goals for 2019:
Expand my platform & financial freedom
I’ve been blogging nearly every weekday in December and… I feel so empowered! It’s so much fun to put together posts (and yea, it’s stressful but enjoyable), expanding my network and meeting other bloggers, and just having a hobby to pass time after working 9-5PM.
Breaking bad habits: my body and mental health
2018 has been a journey with my attitude toward my body and how it’s affected my mental health. I’m resolving to be kinder to my body by eating healthy and doing more – whether that yoga, spinning, taking a walk on an incline… anything! I’d also like to eliminate negative thoughts and start embracing more positivity.
Exploring as much as I can: travel
I had such a great year of travels this year: returning back to Santiago, going to Paris for the first time, and even taking work trips to Dallas and Chicago. I just love to explore new places, learn about how people live outside of NYC, and tick off another country from my list. So where to next? I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Costa Rica this year!
… and a few personal goals I am keeping to myself for now 🙂
