By now, you may well know the Irish retailer Primark which has expanded in the US over the past few years. I recently made a VERY long trip from my apartment in Queens to Kings Plaza in Brooklyn to look for fairly priced basics and landed in a treasure field of really great stuff. I was honestly stunned at the direction of many items at Primark – I’m often cautious when shopping at dirt cheap fast fashion stores as many items are extremely trendy (think Forever21) and made to be disposable. Nevertheless, I found a ton of stuff for less than $100 – a bargain if I could ever find one!
Outfit 1
Polka Dot Jumpsuit ($21) | Black Knot Headband ($4) | Seashell Earrings ($4)
Probably my favorite finds all in one outfit: this jumpsuit fit immaculately (I’m wearing a size 8). Details like the puff sleeve and marble-like buttons and ring belt really attracted me to this. It’s also the easiest thing to throw on and look put together without the fuss. Perhaps in my top 2 buys are also these seashell earrings. No, they aren’t vintage, just inspired! I love finding these sorts of gems because they remind me of the chunky gold clip on earrings of the past. Lastly, you just can’t go wrong with a headband!
Outfit 2
Button Down Floral Dress ($16) | Chain Hoop Earrings ($4)
It’s all in the details, right? The mini ruffle along the neckline, the dainty floral pattern against powdery blue, the buttons running down the front of the dress. I fell in love! I paired the dress with gold earrings and my Miista basket-weave flats. I’m dreaming of summer nights when I can wear this full time!
Outfit 3
High rise Belted Pants ($18)
Ok, the only Primark item that you can clearly see here are the pants – a divine high waisted, wide legged pair of pants that have been my go-to ever since I purchased them. I just love the versatility: they go with a more fun top like this one shoulder cropped top, or even a white tee and leather jacket for more casual affairs. What’s better then pants that work across your entire wardrobe??
If you’re near a Primark, I definitely suggest going soon! For those a bit father out (in NYC, Staten Island is notoriously hard to get to, as is Kings Plaza from personal experience), make it a weekend trip. You’re guaranteed to find many gems, and even take home some affordable home goods too!!
